1Type their chores

Pick from common chores or write your own. Every chore gets a picture so kids who can't read yet can follow along.

Tips for this age

  • Let them help pick the chores. Kids stick with a chart they helped make.
  • Aim for 5 to 7 chores: a few daily ones and one or two bigger weekly jobs.
  • Print a fresh chart each week, and give them a moment to look back at the finished one.
  • If you pay allowance, turn on "Pay for chores" so they can see what each job is worth.
